Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development

  • by

Lawrence Kohlberg, a psychologist, developed a theory on the stages of moral development, emphasising the influence of factors such as socialization and cognitive development. He identified six stages, divided into pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional levels. Despite criticism for its lack of cultural diversity, Kohlberg’s theory remains valuable in understanding moral values and guiding ethical behaviour.
